Luster Dusts may be used by themselves or mixed with compatible Petal Dust to create a lustrous sheen. Brushed on white, they exhibit color as well as sheen.

When mixed with white spirits, a more intense color results. Create your own subtle colours by dusting one colour over another. Super red dusted over Violet gum paste gives a pinkish hue. Brush Avocado, Super Green, or Antique Green on green leaves, depending on the depth of green required, for a glossy look. Brush white leaves with Spiced Pumpkin, Golden Bronze or Copper, then add Rouge Flambé, Burgundy or Grape to create Fall foliage. Draw through steam (from a boiling tea kettle) to set and blend colors. For lifelike Poinsettias, brush Raspberry over red coloured gum paste, the edges with Grape, then steam to set colours.

Silk White gives a very low sheen for flowers that require just a hint of luster. Gold/Green, a gold luster, is as the name implies - gold, with green hue.

Super Gold is the brightest gold. Old Gold gives an antique look.

Airbrushing with LUSTER and PEARL DUSTS

Luster and Pearl Dust and Airbrush are an unbeatable combination, resulting in a beautiful even colour to your handy work in seconds.

Follow a few simple rules and you will be amazed at the result. Bear in mind, however, that all airbrushes are not created equal, and that a little experimentation may be necessary to achieve the best result.

- 1 x 2 gram container of colour of your choice, e.g. Super Pearl.

- Fill to the top of container with white spirit, e.g. vodka.

- Mix well

Transfer to cup of Airbrush and start spraying immediately. It is always advisable to test spray first to ensure that coverage is sufficient. If too heavy, add more white spirit. If too light, add more Dust. Be sure to stir mixture each time before adding to Airbrush cup and before starting to spray. This is essential as the Dust is held in suspension and, if not stirred frequently, will settle. An eyedropper is a useful tool in transferring mix to Airbrush cup.

Please note: The above instructions are only guidelines and different colors may require more or less white spirit as the viscosity differs.

A handy trick is to check the level of a new container of Dust. Those appearing half full or less are obviously heavier than those above the half way mark and, most probably, will require more white spirit. Should spattering occur, especially with the heavier Dust, add more white spirit until an even coverage results.

HAPPY AIRBRUSHING!
